Meanjin covers started out with a simple design of footprints. It went on to commission many artists to create cover artwork, from the naive attempt to reproduce an 'Australian' feeling by using Australian Indigenous themes to bright abstract art often produced by immigrant artists to the modern day collage and photographic covers by major graphic designers.
