Author 1 (Surname, Forename), and Author 2 (Forename Surname). Title of Book. Publisher, Year.

Style notes for this reference type

Elements of citation:

  • Authors' names.
  • Title of book (italicised).
  • Publisher,
  • Publication year.

  • When a source has two authors, list the authors in the same order they are presented in the work.
  • In the reference list, invert the name of the first author only follow it with a comma, then the word and. The second name is written in the normal order (5.7).
  • Page numbers in the works-cited list (but not in in-text citations) are preceded by p. for page or pp. for pages (5.90; 6.16).
  • For books, the city of publication is not given, except in special situations (5.67).
