Style notes for this reference type

    • If a work is self-contained, include several pieces of information in the Location element separated by commas (Fig 5.100)
    • If an approximate date is given, such as circa 15th century, spell out the numeral: fifteenth century. Capitalise or lowercase as you would in prose. (5.82)
    • If the date is uncertain in a source, follow it by a question mark: 1960? (5.83)

Additional information may be needed in the Location element if the work is to be found. For example, box number, disc number, place where the work was heard or viewed.  Include only if it is essential for finding the work (5.84)
