Renewing your items
Items will be automatically renewed unless
- Someone else has requested the item.
- You have fines or replacement fees amounting to $25 or over.
- You have already reached your limit for renewals (limits will vary depending on item type; please see tables below).
- You have another item on your record that is overdue.

- 7-day loans
- 28/90-day loans

Manually renewing items
Item | When you can renew |
---|---|
7 day loan | 3 days before the due date, and up to 3 days after the due date. |
28/90 day loan | 7 days before the due date, and up to 7 days after the due date. |
How to manually renew items
Online
You can log into your Library Account online and renew items manually. If another user has requested your item, it is non-renewable, or it's too soon to renew, then a message will display.
Library chat service
Just type into the online Ask a Librarian chat box on our Contact the Library page for assistance.
Loans desk
Bring the items to the desk or indicate to staff the items to be renewed on the screen.
Self-service machines
Items can be renewed by scanning them on a self-service machine.
