Baillieu library

The Baillieu library self-service recording pods and self-service recording rooms 129 and 130 are located on the first floor and are available for staff and student use.

Booking the Baillieu self-service recording pods and rooms

  • Check the opening hours for the Baillieu Library. Please note you are not able to access the recording spaces during after hours study zone times.
  • Use the DiBs platform to make your booking (2 hours maximum per day) and adhere to the guidelines and policies information.

Using the Baillieu self-service recording pod

On the day of your booking:

  • Staff and students with a valid card will be able to to access the pod.  These pods are not wheelchair accessible.
  • View the self-service recording pod user guide for detailed instructions on how to use the pod.
  • The self-service pod recording console uses a microSD card (purchased separately) or it can be plugged into a BYOD laptop for recording
  • There is no computer or webcam in either space but staff are encouraged to use their smartphones to record video if necessary. Learning Environments have detailed production resource guides to assist with producing content.
  • As this is a self-service space, on-demand technical support is limited. To log a technical problem with the equipment in the pod, please use the general enquiry form.

Self-service recording

Location

The self-service recording pods are located on the first floor of the Baillieu Library.

Self service recording pod 142 is located on level 1 in the middle of the floor towards the south end. This pod is not wheelchair accessible.

Self service recording room 129 is located on level 1 at the south end of the floor.  This room is wheelchair accessible.

Self service recording room 130 is located on level 1 at the south end of the floor. This room is wheelchair accessible.

  • Who can use the self-service recording pod?

    Staff and students are able to use the facilities.

  • How to I get access to the self-service recording pod or rooms?

    On the day of your allocated booking, use your staff or student card for swipe access to the self recording pod. To access the self recording rooms 129 or 130, please go to the Baillieu service desk to collect the key.

  • What times are the self-service recording pod available?

    Access to the room reflects standard hours of operation. There is no access during the after hours study zone times.

  • What do I do if I need more time at the end of my session to complete my recording?

    Up to two hours per day is permitted.

  • What do I do if someone arrives at the room for their booking and I need more time?

    Please finish what you are doing and make another booking for another time.

  • Is there a limit to how long or how often I book the room?

    Two hours, once a day.
