Add Research Outputs to the ARC Research Management System (RMS)

The Research Outputs team can assist with this pre-application activity by ensuring the accurate representation of research outputs in Elements, and by assisting them with adding research outputs to their ARC RMS profile.

Request an introduction to research outputs support for ARC RMS

The RO team is available to present/consult with groups and individual researchers to provide an overview of its support offerings, key contacts, and self-service resources.

A session can be delivered in as little as 10 – 15 minutes, allowing time for questions, and are great additions to Staff Meetings, ECR/MCR meetings, Research Committees, and Research Management meeting agendas.

To arrange a time to engage with you or your group, please contact the Research Outputs team by email.

Deposit your CV

Researchers can submit a CV via the add attachments feature on the Research Outputs ServiceNow request form. Upon receipt of your CV, the RO team will perform an Elements profile ‘health check’, using your employment history and publication details to cross-check the data captured by Elements. This ensures research outputs data is as complete and up to date as it can be before you export your data for your ARC RMS upload.

Where possible the RO team will also identify and link author identifiers to your profile. Author identifiers enhance automatic harvesting of research outputs which ensures they will continue to attach to your Elements profile for future exports.

Add or repair research outputs in Elements

Data quality in Elements is continually improving through ongoing system enhancements. However, if a research output is missing metadata or is not currently listed on your profile, the RO team can assist with these issues by request.

Outputs that are manually entered into Elements must also be ‘verified’ by an RO team member to ensure completeness. Verified records will be indicated by a green Verified tag.

A verified manual record will take precedence over any incomplete record harvested from external data sources in Elements.

Researchers can contact the Research Outputs team by email, or via the ServiceNow request form using the 'general question' option to request assistance.

Add research outputs to your ARC RMS profile

The University of Melbourne's recommended approach to adding research outputs to your ARC RMS profile is either by connecting your ORCID, or by exporting BibTex from Elements. This part of the ARC RMS application process is explained in depth on ARC RMS support.

If you need support to add research outputs to ARC RMS, contact the Research Outputs team by email, or via the ServiceNow request form using the 'general question' option.
