Tips for this reference type

  • See Manual 14.115, also Symposium proceedings 4.63.
  • Parentheses (shown in previous editions of this manual) no longer enclose information about the presentation.
  • For online sources, include a publication date (or date of modification/revision). If no such date can be found, include an access date.
  • For guidance on citing more than one author, see Manual 14.76.
  • A paper included in the published proceedings of a conference may be treated like a chapter in a book (see manual 13.109) or if published in a journal, it is treated as a journal article.
  • For sources consulted online, a URL or DOI should be included with the 'Accessed' date.
  • If a site or page ceases to exist before publication, or if the cited content deleted, this information should be included in the text (see Manual 14.104).
