The University of Melbourne has a number of rare and valuable collections that are used for research, teaching and learning. As the collections require a specialist environment to preserve them for future generations, they are stored in secure areas.
This is where the Reading Room comes in: our staff retrieve collection items for you to view in a purpose-built supervised space.

University library services will be moving services to virtual delivery. In-person service at all library buildings across all campuses will close from Tuesday 24 of March until further notice. The Baillieu Library Reading Room on level 3 which facilitates physical access to our Archives and Special Collections on request will not be available.News
Aeon will be undergoing scheduled system maintenance on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm EDT. You may be unable to access your Aeon account and make requests during this time.News
