The session takes researchers through the what, why, and how of making research more open. We'll explore the many ways openness can be built into the research lifecycle.

Presented by the Digitial Stewardship and Scholarly Communications teams, this webinar is aimed at researchers from all disciplines interested in open research.  After a brief introduction to the concept of open research and its underlying values, the following topics will be discussed:

  • Study preregistrations and registered reports;
  • Open notebooks, including lab notebooks, open-source code and software;
  • Open data, including citizen science data and open collections;
  • Preprints, preprint servers, and open peer review; and
  • Openly licensed creative outputs and public engagement.
