Southbank Library Ground Floor

The University of Melbourne’s Southbank Library is the dedicated music, visual and performing arts library supporting the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music (including Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and the Victorian College of the Arts).

Southbank Library Books

The Book Collection is available for loan and is located on the Ground and Level 1. The collection is arranged in Dewey Decimal order: 000-779 on Ground Floor. 780-999 on Level 1. Note different loan periods may apply e.g. 7 day and overnight.

Southbank Library Reference

The Reference Collection is located on the Ground Floor and contains encyclopaedias, directories, biographies, bibliographies, handbooks, indexes, collected editions of composers and other reference works. Items in this collection are Not For Loan.

Southbank High Use/Overnight

Southbank Library High Use/Overnight

The High Use Room is located on the Ground Floor. It contains high use books and scores, photocopied material, listening tapes and discs, jazz fake books, accent tapes and other high use materials. Items must be borrowed using the Self-check machine before leaving the High Use Room.
