Items out on loan (placing holds)

You can request most items when they are on loan. A due date appears for items in the catalogue when they are on loan.

When returned, the item is put aside for you to collect.

If there is more than one person in the queue the borrowing period changes to 1 week.

Items that can be requested

  • 7 day loans
  • 28 loans
  • 90 day loans

When the item is returned

When the item is returned it is put on the hold shelf at the library that you selected as your preferred pick up location.

Loans can be recalled early when requested by another patron

Borrowers may be required to return loans earlier than their initial loan period if the item has been requested by another borrower.

Recalled items that are overdue attract fines

To ensure library items that are in demand are returned by the due date, fines will be applied to recalled items that are overdue. Please see our Fines and suspensions webpage for further details.
