Join us for a rare live performance of the music and lyrics of Claude Terrasse, Franc-Nohain and Alfred Jarry from Théâtre des Pantins (est. 1897, Paris) by singers Chloe James and Nick Beecher, accompanied by pianist Julian Wade. With short talks on Jarry, Ubu Roi and the legacy of French avant-garde theatre by Claire Le Blon and Nick Strole. Along with a display of six original Théâtre des Pantins music scores designed by artist Pierre Bonnard in 1898 and a scarce 1897 edition of Ubu Roi, from the University of Melbourne Archives and Special Collections.
