Collection Loans 2025-2026

Archives and Special Collections material cannot be borrowed by individuals but is available for use by appointment in the Baillieu Library Reading Room.

Whilst we ordinarily welcome requests from museum and galleries to borrow items for short term exhibition, we will soon be storing and protecting the University's Special Collections ahead of their relocation to a refurbished floor in the Baillieu Library. Our team will be hard at work ensuring the relocation is finished as swiftly as possible. We will therefore be curtailing our loans program from August 2025 until the close of 2026. We hope to be able to offer loans to exhibiting partners in 2027.
