Library and Information Professional placements (TAFE or University)
The Library supports the profession by providing placements for Library and Information students. Placements take place in block mode for three weeks at the end of September to mid October. Library school coordinators will need to contact Sandra Woods (Manager, Library Programs) by no later than the end of May of each year regarding placement applications.

Professional Library Cadetship Program

Employment at the University of Melbourne Library
Continuing or fixed term employment positions in the Library are generally managed through the University of Melbourne Human Resources Jobs website.
Most years, Student Library Assistants (SLAs) or Student IT interns (SITs) are employed casually to work at any of our Libraries as required, they assist with basic enquiries, shelve or handle materials into collections and they provide peer assistance to students.
SLAs or SIT interns must be current University of Melbourne students to be part of either program.
