Library Textbooks and Readings

Finding your textbooks and recommended readings

If your subject uses a print textbook or hard-copy versions of readings, these materials can be found in the High Use areas of campus libraries. Your subject may have two different types of readings. 'Prescribed Readings' are compulsory for your coursework. 'Recommended Readings' have been set up your lecturer to complement your coursework.

High Use areas are usually located on the ground floor of our libraries for quick access. You can look up what textbooks and readings your lecturer has added to the High Use collection for your subject by searching the library catalogue by 'Subject code/name'.

Items in High Use collections have different location codes for each library, which are outlined below for each faculty/school.
