UoM Visualise Your Thesis Competition (VYT)
Join us for the awards event where we will announce the University of Melbourne 2020 Visualise Your Thesis winner. Celebrate with those graduate researchers who have created a 1-minute video presentation to convey the most important messages on their thesis topic and research.
The winner will receive a $1000 voucher and will go on to represent UoM and compete in the International Visualise Your Thesis competition! Wednesday 26 August 4pm – 5pm. Register here now!
What is happening now?
Today is the submission deadline for the local VYT competition, so as of 5pm today we're moving into the next stage of local VYT. Let's meet our 2020 Visualise Your Thesis Judges who will be reviewing the entries and decide will go on to represent UoM and compete in the International Visualise Your Thesis competition:
Rose Hiscock
Director, Science Gallery Melbourne
Rose Hiscock is the Director, University Museums and Collections at the University of Melbourne
Rose is also the inaugural Director of Science Gallery Melbourne. She is responsible for the delivery of Science Gallery Melbourne, a new venue dedicated to engaging young adults through the collision of arts and science.
Dr Shane Huntington OAM
Executive Officer (Strategy) Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry & Health Sciences
& broadcaster, 3RRR Science Radio Program
Shane is a speaker, trainer and facilitator.
For the past 28 years, he has been a broadcaster on 3RRR’s science radio program. He has interviewed thousands of scientists and explained hundreds of scientific concepts to the public. In 2020 he was awarded an Order of Australia in recognition of his science communication work.
Dr Lauren Rosewarne
Director, Chair & Lecturer in Social & Political Sciences
Dr Lauren Rosewarne is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Social and Political Sciences. She is the Director of the Undergraduate Political Science program and also the Chair of the Humanities, Law and Social Sciences Human Ethics Sub-committee.
