You hit a paywall of $30 for a journal article, the link to a report results in a 404, you want to read a chapter from a book that isn’t in a nearby library.
Access to research is a real problem, particularly for practitioners, policy makers and researchers at underfunded institutions. This Open Access Week, find out how you can ensure wider access to your research through sharing preprints, exploring new publishing outlets and depositing in an open access repository.

- Be able to define open access (OA)
- Understand the benefits and limitations of each type of open access publishing option
- Have identified key open access funder policies and understand their effect on your research
- Know how to deposit in the institutional repository, Minerva Access
