The Burnley Rare Book collection is 'closed access' because of the age, value or uniqueness of an item and to ensure their long-term care and preservation for the future. Items can be pre-requested using this online form; you will then be able to consult requested items in the Cultural Collections Reading Room, 3rd floor, Baillieu Library.

The reference collection includes encyclopedias, atlases, dictionaries and copies of plant, insect and weed identification books. The collection is located within the Burnley Stack and is only accessible when library staff are present (see opening hours)
|Burnley BVM||Burnley Book Vending Machine||Books held in the vending machine that are typically prescribed or recommended reading. The machine automatically checks books out to the patron on presentation of a valid student card.|
|Burnley High Use||Burnley High Use||The High Use collection includes high use books, horticultural project reports and honors and masters theses. High Use items are available for a 2 hour loan for use within the library. A maximum of 2 items can be borrowed at a time.|
