Baillieu Periodicals (journals)

The periodical or journal collection contains items that are cited with a year or volume number, issue number and page reference. These details are usually essential for locating material. Journals are shelved by call number. Bound copies can be borrowed for two days by University of Melbourne staff and higher degree students only; recent unbound journals are not available for loan.

Current and recent newspapers are kept in the northwest corner of the Lower Ground floor.

Bail P fBaillieu Folio Periodicals (journals)These are the Folio (larger sized) periodicals or journals, which are shelved after the end of the Periodical sequence. Folio periodicals are shelved by call number. Bound copies can be borrowed for two days by University of Melbourne staff and higher degree students only; recent unbound journals are not available for loan.

Periodicals with the location codes Bail P gf or Bail P ef are also shelved within the Bail P f sequence.
BailBaillieu BooksStandard-sized books with the call number range 900-999 are shelved on the Lower Ground floor.
Bail fBaillieu Folio BooksFolio (larger sized) books are located at the end of the Bail 900 sequence on the Lower Ground floor. These books are all within the call number range 900-999.
Bail gfBaillieu Giant Folio BooksThese are very large books which require special shelving, and are located on the Lower Ground floor after the f 900s.
Bail efBaillieu Elephant Folio BooksThese are the largest sized books which require special shelving, and are located on the Lower Ground floor after the gf sequence.
Bail MICBaillieu MicroformThis collection is composed of indexes and guides to material held on microfiche  and microfilm in the Library.
Bail MIC/oBaillieu MicrofilmThis collection consists of material held on microfilm that may be viewed in the Library, using our microfilm readers. The microfilm collection is held at the north end of the Lower Ground floor, beyond the microfilm readers.
Bail MIC/fBaillieu Microfiche

This collection consists of material held on microfiche that may be viewed in the Library, using our microfiche readers on the Lower Ground floor. The microfiche collection is held next to the Unicard Copyshop.
