All Education Collections are now at the Giblin Eunson Library.

The Education collection is a graduate collection offering an extensive coverage of education related subjects to support the research and teaching of faculty and students in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education and its Research Centres.

The collection can be viewed in two parts: a theoretical collection and an applied collection of classroom support material in both print and media.

The collection strengths include curriculum theory, educational psychology, early childhood, primary and secondary education, student wellbeing, educational leadership, higher education, educational research, language acquisition, educational administration, gifted education and assessment.

Children’s literature award winners

This is a collection of award winning children’s books from Australia (Picture Book of the Year; Book of the Year; and the Crichton Award), Great Britain (Carnegie Medal; Kate Greenaway Medal) and the USA (Caldecott Medal; Newbery Medal; and the Michael L. Printz Award). The books are not available for loan. There are copies available for loan in the Picture Books and Junior Fiction Collections.

Education theses

The University of Melbourne Thesis Collection holds archival copies of all Masters by Research and PhD theses completed at the University.  It includes the former Faculty of Education and Melbourne Graduate School of Education Masters (major and minor), D.Ed and PhD theses, Bachelor of Education Investigations and Melbourne College of Advanced Education Arts theses.
