Training & Outreach

We offer training in Research Data Management such as the Managing Data @ Melbourne training program. Through our outreach activities, we participate in national and international conferences, contribute to University projects and foster collaboration with external partners.

Training

We offer training in Research Data Management and Data Curation for up-skilling and building capability at the University of Melbourne.

Managing Data @ Melbourne

Managing Data @Melbourne is the University's research data management training program. It consists of six short modules, which outline the fundamental practices of good data management. Develop the skills you need to draft your research data management plan.

The program is aimed predominantly at University of Melbourne graduate researchers (MPhil and PhD students) but is open to all students and staff, and to external users. Access the program here.

The Managing Data @ Melbourne program was inspired by and based on the Research Data MANTRA [online course] developed by EDINA and Data Library, University of Edinburgh.

immersiveInformatics

immersiveInformatics was a distinctive training pilot program which aimed to provide participants with the essential knowledge required to describe, manage, identify, access, preserve and re-use research data. The project was a collaboration between the University of Melbourne and UKOLN Informatics.

The training material from the pilot program has been released under a Creative Commons licence.

Other Training

The digital scholarship team provides input into a range of training programs for researchers. More information can be found on the library training and workshop page.
