The Baillieu Library turned 60 in 2019. As part of the 60th celebrations, we held a social media competition inviting University of Melbourne students to capture their relationship with the Baillieu Library in their choice of format.
Following much deliberation, the judges have announced the winners of the Baillieu 60 competition:
First place: Gina, whose serene photo taken from her favourite study space contrasts with her recollections of struggling with third year study as she applied for a Masters degree.
Second place: Will, for his stunning photo of the spiral staircase and his musings on the many "micromoments" that have taken place on its steps.
Third place: Rohith, whose Instagrammed sketch captured the modernist lines of the Baillieu's facade amid the hubbub of students coming and going.
