Baillieu Library 60 Social Media Competition

The Baillieu Library turned 60 in 2019. As part of the 60th celebrations, we will be running a social media competition.

University of Melbourne students are invited to create and submit entries that capture their relationship with the Baillieu Library. The aim is to uncover stories about the Baillieu Library’s place in your journey as students.

Topics can include:

  • Architecture
  • Your favourite study space
  • Your favourite view of the building
  • What the library means to you
  • A story about your experience of studying in the library
  • How you use the collection
  • #Bookfacefriday
  • #libraryshelfie

Submission categories can include:

  • GIF
  • Prose
  • Poem
  • Song
  • Photo
  • Video
  • Performance
  • Multimedia
  • Anything unexpected (category-defying)

    Post your entry about the Baillieu Library on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook and tag us.

    Entries posted between September 30 and October 20 will be automatically considered.

    Only current University of Melbourne students are eligible to win prizes. We will check your enrollment after judging if you’re selected for a prize.

    1st Prize: AUD$500 Readings Gift Voucher

    2nd Prize: AUD$250 Pronto Pizza Voucher

    3rd Prize: AUD$100 Standing Room Coffee Voucher

  • When is this happening?

    Entries posted between September 30 and October 20 will be automatically considered.

  • What are the rules?

    The competition is open to current University of Melbourne students. You need to post during the competition period, using the instructions in the How Do I Enter section (link).

    When posting photos you must keep the following in mind:

    • Respect people’s privacy. Don’t post identifiable pictures of others without their permission
    • Respect people’s work. Don’t include music, images, logos or other material you don’t have permission to use. If you’re not sure if you can use something, find out more at [link to more materials]
