This session partners the engagement skills of the Business Development Team at the university with the resources and knowledge of library specialists to provide an informative session about industry engagement for research.

This session will offer a chance to:

  • Learn how to identify the right businesses and organisations for research partnerships;
  • Learn about broader industry context to help guide decisions for engaging with industry;
  • Learn how to successfully engage with businesses and organisations for successful research partnership.

Presenters: Dr Ruth Park-Jones, Kristian Causovski, Trent Hennessey.

Dr Ruth Park-Jones is a Business Development Manager in the MDHS Faculty. Ruth has over 10 years of experience in advising University researchers on IP management, industry engagement and commercial strategies in relation to their research ideas and outcomes. She has a breadth of technical knowledge building on a PhD in pharmacology and immunology, as well as a strong understanding of IP principles and strategies from studies in Intellectual Property Law at Melbourne Law School. Ruth has a strong commitment to increasing and improving industry engagement in relation to the University of Melbourne’s unique capabilities and innovations.

Kristijan Causovski and Trent Hennessey are senior librarians from the Giblin Eunson library who collaborate regularly to support the learning, teaching and research needs of the Faculty of Business Economics and Melbourne Business School. Provision of services include expert guidance on company and industry resources.
