Important Notice: Reading Room Service Disruption
Reading Room services and opening hours will be disrupted from 9 October 2017 due to changes made in collection repositories.
These essential works are preliminary works preceding a likely redevelopment of the Reading Room and related repositories on level 3, anticipated (but not yet confirmed), for later this month.
The net effect of these changes, should they all proceed, will see the Reading Room moved to a new location on level 3 and be fully operational for first semester 2018.
The essential preliminary works being undertaken from next week will disrupt access to the Reading Room and access to collection material – particularly Rare Books - is not guaranteed. Furthermore partial or complete closure of the Reading Room is possible. As such, the Client Services Team advise:
- Researchers requesting rare book material should bring forward research activities so they can be undertaken over the next 2 weeks.
- As of Wednesday 11 October 2017, the Reading Room will no longer be opening Wednesday evenings. Please refer to our Hours page on this website for changes in opening hours.
- If you have special circumstances and are adversely affected by the changes, please contact the Reading Room to discuss your situation and how it may possibly be mitigated.
We apologies for any inconvenience these service disruptions cause. The circumstances surrounding their necessity are outside the control of the Client Services Team and staff will endeavour to assist our Researchers where possible.
The Client Services Team will provide updates to via our website as information becomes available. If you have any questions, please contact us.
