Is there a future for the scholarly monograph?
Information Futures Forum - Tuesday 20 September 2011
Is there a future for the scholarly monograph in the digital era?
In an age of research assessment processes and 'impact' criteria for academic job promotions, what qualities identify an academic book? What is the role of the university press in publishing works by young scholars, and how do we balance the credibility of peer-review against the temptation of instant DIY publishing?
Guest speaker Colin Steele will explore these and related questions in a wide-ranging Information Futures Forum that will be of particular interest to researchers in the arts, humanities and social sciences.
The forum will be held on the morning of Tuesday 20 September 2011. Students, staff, alumni and friends of the University are welcome to attend.
